The secret is out: there's a new name, look, and solidified brand for the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber & Visitors Center.

As of Monday, the chamber will be known as the Greater CWC Chamber & Visitors Program. The new look was initially unveiled to chamber members at their monthly breakfast meeting Jan. 26.

“We are excited to announce the culmination of the rebranding initiative; this three-month process has been led by partners who possess a passion to promote the unique spirit of our wonderful community," said Greater CWC president & CEO, Tim James. "We know this re-fresh will positively affect our tourism and business programs.”

Both the City of Cayce and the City of West Columbia appointed local business leaders to the chamber community rebrand committee. Ashley Hunter of MPA Strategies led as the project manager, and Joe Long, head of Black Barn Brand Designs, was selected as the graphic designer for the project.

“It speaks volumes that there was no need to look outside of our own Chamber members to procure all of the collateral items for the complete rebrand and to provide an array of new member services that focused both on keeping the cost of doing business low for our members and bringing new visitors to our area," said Hunter.

The design for the chamber's new sunset logo was carried out with great detail, even down to the colors used. According to Hunter, there are purposeful color shades representing parts of the area like "River Walk green," and "Congaree blue."

Committee members included Kathy Whetzel of Whetzel Automotive, Anastasia Manos of Zesto’s, Ashley Lambert with Steel Hands Brewing, Allison Brumfield of Lexington District Four, Michael Mayo with Palmetto Outdoor, Chris Kueny with Substation II and Phil Blair with WECO Bottle and Biergarten.

“This project will continue to boost the local economy, and we are thankful for everyone who played a role in making it happen," said Greater CWC Board Chairman, Hayley Bowers.
