When a business that started with the imagination of two college roommates turns seven, it's definitely time to throw a party.

Craft and Draft did just that Saturday at its original Devine St. location, celebrating with a day full of live music, food trucks and, of course, lots and lots of beer.

The craft beer store was born with conversations between owners Andrew Johnson and Kellen Monroe when they were engineering students and roommates at the University of South Carolina. Their plans to one day open a brewery became Craft and Draft.

The Devine St. location offers a dozen taps with rotating selections of local and regional brews, with more than 300 others for sale in bottles and cans.

The partners expanded in 2020, opening a second store in Irmo.

Saturday’s birthday party featured live music from Dear Blanca and Henry Menzel, with Chubby’s Burgers, the Steel Garden Plant Truck, and Low Country Boil with Chef Ros serving up food to go with the beer.

More information on the store, including menus, upcoming events and online ordering, is available at craftanddraftbeer.com.
