One popular Columbia bakery is making a move – but they won’t be going too far.

It was announced Tuesday that Ally & Eloise Bakeshop, known for its macarons and custom-made cakes, will be moving from the 1600 block of Columbia’s Main Street, into the historic Arcade Building three blocks down.

The announcement on the company’s Facebook page reads: “We are excited to continue offering sweet treats in downtown Columbia. Our new location will be opening in Mid-September. When we do open, stop by to claim your FREE small coffee and macaron!”

Owner Aleka Selig opened her first bakery in Forest Acres seven years ago. Then in 2016, she opened the second Ally & Eloise at 1626 Main Street.

The Forest Drive location will remain open during the Main Street store’s move. Customers may still place orders by coming into the store, or by calling 803-708-2982.

Columbia’s Arcade Building was originally built in 1912. It was recently renovated after being bought by Peach Properties Inc., attracting new businesses into the facility.
