A new option for independent senior living is now available in northeast Columbia. Discovery Village at Sandhill held its grand unveiling Thursday, offering tours, musical entertainment, chef-prepared bites, a photo booth and a cruise raffle to benefit the Honor Flight Network. Approximately 100 community members, current and prospective future residents attended the event.

Discovery Village at 440 Town Center Place has 187 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. Community amenities include a restaurant-style dining room, bar, library, game room, activity room, theater, fitness center and beauty salon.

Discovery Village at Sandhill is managed and operated by Discovery Senior Living, based in Bonita Springs, Florida.

“When the idea of Discovery Village at Sandhill came to fruition, we knew this community would thrive in a walkable location where active seniors can blend into an even broader community,” said Randy Smith, senior vice president of operations at Discovery Senior Living.

Discovery Senior Living has more than 25 years of experience in developing, building, operating and managing senior-living communities. It manages 60 communities in 14 states, including Oakleaf Village in Lexington.
