S.C. Democratic Party’s annual convention is Saturday

The S.C. Democratic Party’s annual convention is set for Saturday at the Columbia Convention Center.

The convention is attracting 21 presidential primary candidates.

Each candidate will be given seven minutes to address the crowd at the convention.

More than 2,000 delegates and guests are expected to attend. The S.C. Democratic Party has partnered with MSNBC to telecast the event. The network is expected to broadcast live from the convention hall during the day.

South Carolina is a crucial early-voting presidential primary state, with a diverse population. That makes it a popular destination for candidates.
