Lexington man dies after being hit by vehicle at Chapin storage facility

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the pedestrian who died due to being struck by a vehicle Wednesday. The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. in Chapin, in the gravel lot surrounding a storage facility.

According to Fisher, Mr. Evan E. Bowersox, 24, of Lexington was pronounced dead upon arrival at an area hospital due to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, and others present at the scene attempted to render aid.
An investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
