2 hikers and a dog, in distress, found at Congaree National Park
Columbia Fire Department crews, working with staff at the Congaree National Park were able to locate two hikers and a dog. They were lost Saturday evening along Cedar Creek. The distressed party was spotted by other hikers on the other side of the creek. The lost hikers asked that 9-1-1 be called on their behalf, according to a report from the CFD.
Both the missing hikers and the dog appear to be okay. Guests of the park are strongly encouraged to bring a cell phone with adequate power on their hikes to help in the event of an emergency. Congaree National Park photos.
