Congaree Land Trust officials will soon be hosting a casual evening of “food and fun,” dedicated to the preservation of valuable scenic and working land in the Midlands.

The organization’s fourth annual Game & Garden: Spring Feast will be held April 25 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event is open to the public, and will support land conservation efforts across Central South Carolina with an evening of conservation, cocktails, and cooking on the wild side.

Game and Garden will feature four local chefs cooking with South Carolina game such as quail and squab. Other ingredients will include stone-ground grits, heirloom grains, and seasonal produce. Participating chefs include Kristian Niemi of Black Rooster, Ken DuBard of Congaree Milling Company, Gabrielle Watson of F2T Productions, Management and Catering, and William Trapp of The War Mouth.

A silent auction will feature original artwork by local artists. Performing live will be award-winning bluegrass band, Palmetto Blue. Bar offerings include local craft beer, wine and a hand-crafted cocktail by Joshua Streetman of Motor Supply Co. Bistro.
