The most talked-about annual Five Points event is less than three weeks away.

Gregory Electric and the Five Points community will welcome the “season of green” Saturday at the Official Kick-Off to St. Pat’s, centered around the Five Points fountain (at the intersection of Harden and Greene streets). Guests of all ages are invited to the free event.

The kick-off precedes the festival itself each year, and features the dying of the fountain. Following the kick-off, the fountain’s water will remain green leading up to the St. Pat’s Festival.

In addition to the dyeing, Saturday’s events will also include:
-Dance performances by Connick School of Irish Dance
-Musical performances from Tuatha Dea and EJ Campbell
-Bagpipers in traditional Irish garb
-Special appearances by Palmetto Pipes and Drums and the Kudzoo Queens
-Complimentary face painting, balloon twisting and green popcorn
-Complimentary t-shirts from Gregory Electric
Food and beverage vendors

The kick-off activities will begin at 3:30 p.m. and finish at 7 p.m.
