Families get opportunity to spend night inside State Museum this weekend

The South Carolina State Museum is giving families a chance to experience a night inside the museum Friday.

Guests will be able to explore the entire facility including the new Hall of Heroes exhibit and a variety of programs geared toward astronomy. The night will also include special shows in the planetarium and the 4-D theater. Participants can also explore the constellations, planets, moon and more while using telescopes in the Boeing Observatory.

A pizza dinner from Little Caesar’s Pizza will be provided for all participants Friday evening. Saturday morning, guests can enjoy a light continental breakfast, followed by a special morning showing of The Martian: 4D Experience. The Cotton Mill Exchange will open after the showing for guests to shop for souvenirs to remember their experience.

Tickets for the overnight event are $35 per person for the public, and $28 per person for members. Space is limited and reservations are required. Guests may call 803-898-4999 or visit scmuseum.org to reserve a space.
