South Carolina gets road win over Georgia

South Carolina ended a two-game losing streak with an 86-80 win over Georgia, Saturday.

The Gamecocks (11-10, 6-2 SEC) led the whole game, but had to fight off some comeback attempts by the Bulldogs. Georgia cut the USC lead to 83-80 with 1:06 to play, but that was as close as it got. The Gamecocks started the game hot.

South Carolina scored the first seven points of the opening half and built a 14-4 lead. The score was 22-8 with 9:39 to play in the first half.
But Georgia scored nine straight points later in the half and had cut the USC lead to 45-40 by halftime. Georgia hit a 3-pointer to open the second half and cut the margin to two points, but the Bulldogs would get no closer.
