A crowd gathered Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the grand opening  of the newest downtown apartments in Columbia, owned by Capitol Places. 1321 Lofts is the apartment complex located at 1321 Lady Street, with 130 apartments varying from one-bedroom to three-bedroom.

The vision was created by the Prioreschi family, and brought to life by Mashburn Construction.

“We couldn’t be happier to be a part of the downtown revitaization,” Lee Mashburn said at the building’s ribbon cutting. “We were ready to start this project four years ago, and it finally came through. It couldn’t have turned out any better. We’re excited to start leasing, and excited to put 130 people back on the streets of downtown.”

Prices begin at $990 a month for a 450 sq.-ft. one-bedroom apartment. Larger one-bedrooms (820 sq.-ft) are available for $1365 a month. Most of the spaces are created for a single bedroom, however, there are a few two-bedrooms, and one three-bedroom. Prices cap at $2169 per month.

One of the most frequent questions interested parties inquired about at the grand opening was parking. According to Capitol Places Community Manager Kristen McCullough, night-time parking spots will be available for $35 a month, and all-day parking will be $50. There will also be street parking available through the City of Columbia.

Spaces are currently move-in ready on the third and fourth floors. McCullough said as soon as the second elevator is finished, the rest of the apartments will be also available for leasing on the first and second floors.

The complex offers amenities including an urban boutique lobby, washer/dryer in all units, fitness studio, media room and lounge, clubhouse area, high speed internet, indoor bike storage, and an oasis club with pool, sundeck and grilling patio.
