Man found unconscious in car carrying pistol, four kinds of drugs, police say

The Springdale Police Department reported an arrest Sunday night that occurred earlier in the day. According to the department, officers responded to a call at the Raceway gas station on Airport Boulevard in reference to a car with an unconscious occupant.

Officers discovered a 34-year-old man passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked at a gas pump. He was identified as Brandon Scott, from Columbia.

While attempting to wake Scott, he was found to have a pistol in his possession he did not have a permit to carry. Further investigation revealed he was prohibited from possessing firearms, and the pistol was stolen, according to the department. Officers also found body armor, methamphetamine, heroin, schedule II narcotics, and marijuana.

Scott was transported to a hospital, then transported to the Lexington County Detention center after he was cleared. He has been charged with unlawful carry of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of body armor, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, heroin, schedule II narcotics (all different charges), and possession of marijuana.
