The COMET Central Midlands Transit system is offering free rides to passengers for the holiday season as a gift to the community. Any passenger who boards a bus with Christmas lights/decorations will be able to ride the bus for free.

There are two holiday buses circulating throughout the COMET transit system through December 24. According to the company, those two buses will be changing routes to give passengers of different areas the chance to ride for free, for the holidays.

The COMET provides countywide public transit services on 38 fixed routes. COMET vehicles conduct approximately 2.8 million passenger trips a year on a fleet of 81 buses and vans.
