Pictures with Santa one of many holiday events offered at State Museum

Photo provided by SCSM.

Santa made his first appearance at the South Carolina State Museum last weekend. Guests will be able to see him again Saturday, and take a train ride on the SCSM North Pole Express. Santa meet-and-greets are included with museum admission or membership, and train rides are $3 per ride ($2 for museum members).

Guests who purchase a special holiday photo with Santa will get a free train ride. Special holiday planetarium shows like The Polar Express 4D Experience will be showing throughout the day.

Santa will be making one more weekend appearance Dec. 21 through 23.

Guests can also get in the holiday spirit with other seasonal shows during the museum’s “Second Shift Twosday” activities.  In addition to The Polar Express, shows offered include Star of Bethlehem, and Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas Laser, playing in the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolinan Planetaium at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will also be seasonal shopping, South Carolina food product tastings, and samples of local beer in the Cotton Mill Exchange during Tasting Tuesdays.
