Five Points offers many different things to residents and visitors alike. Friday evening the Columbia neighborhood transformed into one big holiday party, with everyone invited.

Stores stayed open late and offered special deals and treats for the annual holiday event, A Starry Night.

At the Five Points Fountain, Santa and his elves welcomed all those with holiday wishes as Freeway Music and Soda City Brass Band provided live music. Face painting, a cookie decorating station, hot chocolate and other treats were also available, and all free thanks to village businesses.

The party spread throughout the neighborhood, with DJ Blake Arambula spinning holiday tunes at the Hootie and the Blowfish monument and doors open wide everywhere as businesses offered all sorts of holiday cheer.

“It’s so great for everyone to be able to come out and just have all this, Santa and the music and just all of it,” said Amy Gardener as she watched her twin sons dance to the Soda City Brass Band. “It feels like an old-fashioned small town thing.”

Information on future events and sales is available at fivepointscolumbia.com.
