High School League moving championship games to Friday because of bad weather threat

The South Carolina High School League is moving the state championship games in football that were scheduled for Saturday to Friday. The games are being moved because of the threat of bad weather.

With the changes, all SCHSL championship games will be played Friday. The Class A and 2A will be held at Benedict College. The Class 3A, 4A and 5A games will be held at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The game times for the games at Williams-Brice Stadium are: Class 4A – Myrtle Beach vs. Greer, 1 p.m.; Class 3A – Dillon vs. Chester, 4 p.m.; and Class 5A Dutch Fork vs. TL Hanna, 7:30 p.m.

The games at Benedict College are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Lamar takes on Green Sea Floyds at 5 p.m. and Abbeville will play Barnwell at 8 p.m.
