USC picked for the Belk Bowl
The Gamecock football team learned of its post-season bowl destination Sunday afternoon.
South Carolina will travel to Charlotte for the Belk Bowl to play the Virginia Cavaliers on Dec. 29 (at noon, ABC.) It will be USC’s first appearance in the bowl just 90 miles from Columbia.
The Gamecocks qualified for the Belk Bowl with a 7-5 record this season.
Virginia, of the ACC, also has a 7-5 record.
In 2017, USC defeated Michigan 26-19 in the Outback Bowl in Tampa. The Gamecocks have won five of its past six bowl games.
The Gamecocks will prepare for the game in several practices before Christmas.
