RCSD seeking suspects who stole vehicle from Obama gas station, aired on Live PD

Still shot from RCSD-provided surveillance footage.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted for Motor Vehicle Theft.

The owner of a white Chevy Tahoe parked his vehicle at the Obama gas station at 5831 North Main Street around 7:50 p.m., Friday.  According to the department, the owner left his vehicle running and unattended while he went inside the store.

While the driver was inside, two men (possibly juveniles) who were sitting outside the location got into the victim’s Tahoe and drove away.  The stolen vehicle was located a short time later on Lorick Avenue, and had been involved in a crash.  The motor vehicle theft was captured on the store’s video surveillance camera.

If anyone has knowledge of the incident or can identify the suspects, the RCSD is asking them to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.  All tips can remain anonymous, and callers can earn up to $1000 for any information regarding the crime.

The incident aired on Live PD Nov. 2.
