The winning streaks continued Friday for Dutch Fork football.

The Silver Foxes defeated Lexington 51-7 for their 19th consecutive win both overall and in region play. It was also the 16th straight road victory for the undefeated, 2-time defending Class 5A champions.

Quarterback Tyler Olenchuk threw three touchdowns and accounted for 348 of Dutch Fork’s 635 total yards. Wide receivers Jalin Hyatt had 9 receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns and Gage Zirke added eight receptions for 176 yards and a touchdown.

Running back Ron Huff added two rushing scores to go with 74 yards and Jonathan Hall led the team with 88 rushing yards.
The victory did not completely please Dutch Fork head coach Tom Knotts. Dutch Fork had three turnovers, one which resulted in Lexington’s lone touchdown on a 1-yard run in the third quarter by Akeem Nicholas.
The Silver Foxes were also penalized 11 times for 121 yards.

This was also the lowest point total of the season for the Silver Foxes, who are averaging 61 points a contest and outscoring opponents 427-63.
Lexington’s lone score

“We’re battling our own demons right now,” he said. “We’re a good, quality high school team, probably as good as I’ve had. But we’ve got some “perception issues” that we’ve got to deal with and I’m just the man to get it out of them.”

Knotts will have two weeks to work with his team. Following a bye next week, the Silver Foxes (7-0, 3-0) play host to White Knoll Oct. 26 seeking to clinch a third consecutive Region 5-5A title.
Lexington (4-3, 1-1) travels to Chapin on Oct. 19, seeking to improve the record of teams following a loss to Dutch Fork to 7-0.
