USC classes, state offices in Columbia closed Thursday

Offices in in South Carolina are closing due to the threat caused by Hurricane Michael.

The storm is expected to be a tropical storm by the time it arrives in South Carolina late Wednesday night. The storm is expected to make its pressence felt in Columbia early Thursday.

The University of South Carolina-Columbia will be closed and classes are canceled Thursday, due to Hurricane Michael. USC officials say they are expecting heavy rain and strong winds.
