Richland Districts One, Two, and Lexington District One announced Wednesday mid-day, they will be closing Thursday due to inclement weather associated with Hurricane Michael.  According to Richland One’s website, officials are concerned the traveling conditions may become unsafe.

Richland Two reported, “As you know, Hurricane Michael is expected to impact the Midlands beginning early Thursday morning.  The forecas calls for possible tornadoes and flash flooding as well as sustained winds ranging from 25-35 mph and gusts to 50 mph.  Winds 30 mph or greater pose a serious safety risk to school buses.”

All school activities scheduled for Thursday, including after school programs, child-care programs, and athletic activities have also been canceled.
