The South Carolina State Fair has recently been named one of the most affordable state fairs in the country, according to HomeToGo. The independent vacation rental metasearch engine rated South Carolina’s state fair the sixth most affordable in the nation.

The rankings were based on a comparison of admission prices, parking, ride wristbands, a corn dog, and overnight accommodations in the nearest cities among fairs throughout the United States.

“We are very mindful of the importance of affordability, and we aim to put on a fair each year that is both entertaining and economical,” State Fair manager Nancy Smith said. “We are gratified to know that our pricing ranks among the least expensive in the country.”

The HomeToGo rankings are based on regular admission prices, and do not reflect additional savings offered through S.C. State Fair’s advanced discount ticket sales, which continue through October 9.

“State fairs are some of the most popular events in the calendar year,” HomeToGo head of Inbound Marketing, Joanna Booth said. “These fun, quintessentially American occasions are perfect to incorporate into summer and fall travel plans as they appeal to family members of all ages, and offer amazing value for the money as well.”

The South Carolina State Fair will be from Oct. 10 through the 21 at Rosewood Drive and George Rogers Boulevard.
