There does not seem to be as much traffic on the streets of Columbia Friday morning.
Hurricane Florence came onshore in Wilmington, NC around 7:15 a.m. with winds at 84 MPH. It has been downgraded to a Category 1 hurricane.

Weather forecasts are calling for rain to begin falling in mid-afternoon. Rain showers could be heavy at times, but the rain will be periodic, according to predictions.

The rain will be local Saturday into Sunday. Amounts forecasts are for 4-to-6 inches of rain. Rain totals depend on which way the storm shifts.
