Expect 4-to-6 inches of rain in Central SC from Hurricane Florence, winds likely to begin Thursday night

The 5 a.m. National Weather Service update on the status of Hurricane Florence shows a significant southwest shift- to South Carolina-  in the track of the storm. The latest NWS report said Central South Carolina can expect four-to-six inches of rain.  And to the north, expect six-to-ten inches of rain. Two-to-four inches  of rain is expected in the Central Savannah River Area, west of Columbia.  The most likely timing for tropical storm force winds entering the Midlands is Thursday night. Storm preparations should be completed before this time.
