Fiberglass company coming to Midlands with 400 job openings, job fair Saturday

There’s a new Chinese-based company coming to South Carolina, and they have chosen Richland County as their ground-breaking location.

Jushi, a global manufacturer and promoter of fiberglass products is establishing its U.S. fiberglass manufacturing operations with an 80,000-ton production line. According to readysc.org, the first phase of the project is expected to create 400 new jobs and bring $300 million in capital investment.

Their headquarters are based out of Zhejiang, China, and the company is a leading supplier of fiberglass reinforcements and fabrics to the plastics industry worldwide. Their new production line is designed to supplement the growth in the United States. Jushi’s Columbia location is in Pineview Industrial Park.  According to JushiUSA.com, their only other American distribution centers are located in Indiana, and California.

The company is holding a job fair this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 2440 Atlas Rd. in Columbia. They are accepting applications for nine different positions:

-Accounting Clerk
-Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
-Bushing Leader
-Buyer
-IT Technician
-Maintenance Supervisor
-Multi-craft Maintenance Technician
-Warehouse Specialist
-Production Team Member (hourly pay)
