Springdale Mayor Michael Bishop, police chief Kevin Cornell, members of the Chamber, and employees of the city gathered Thursday afternoon for the newest ribbon cutting in the town. Dollar General celebrated their opening on 2922 Platt Springs Road.

Bishop laughed that he nearly had forgotten the new Dollar General was there when he went to get his food supplies for the fourth of July. “I’m three blocks behind here, and if I could have sent y’all anywhere, I would have put you right here,” he said. He welcomed the store into Springdale. “If there’s anything myself or the town can do, please know we’re your neighbor.”

Dollar General’s District Manager Reggie Chapman spoke to the crowd and expressed his gratitude to residents for attending the ribbon cutting. “We want to say thank you for coming out and welcoming us into your town. At Dollar General our mission is about serving others, not just with great merchandise at a great price, but also being involved in our community, and serving our community as well,” said Chapman.

The store is currently open for business. Their hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
