There will soon be another entertainment attraction coming to the 1600 block of Columbia’s Main Street. Topgolf is moving into The Venue on Main (directly behind Michael’s Cafe), and should be finished by October or November. There is one obvious question about a golf venue coming to Main Street: how is there enough room for that? The Columbia Topgolf will be a Swing Suite version of the franchise. It combines the comfort of the air-conditioned indoors with the physicality of holding a golf club, and hitting a real ball. There will be five suites available with large simulators, lounge seating, high definition TVs, and full food and beverage service.

President of Development Greg Middleton said he’s thrilled to announce Topgolf Swing Suite’s addition to The Venue on Main. “This new and innovative technology will bring an enhanced level of excitement to an already vibrant Main Street destination,” he said. “The Venue on Main Topgolf Swing Suite will combine food, drinks, fun, and a casual, relaxed atmosphere to create the perfect setting for socialization.”

Topgolf Swing Suite President Ron Powers said the attraction will entertain people of all ages, golfers and non-golfers. “We are proud to team with The Venue on Main to provide a new kind of interactive social experience, featuring industry-leading full swing simulators,” said Powers.

There can be up to eight players per simulator. The suites will be rentable for fun, interactive social/business settings, or for private practice sessions. This form of Topgolf will be a new milestone for the company, by extending its brand beyond the traditional design.
