Panera Bread kicks off “Summer of Wishes” for Make-a-Wish S.C.

Panera Bread kicked off their Summer of Wishes campaign at 11 Wednesday morning with a cookie decorating event to help raise funds for Make-a-Wish South Carolina.

The event took place at Panera Bread’s Garners Ferry location in Columbia. The campaign will continue through the month of July. During the campaign, Panera Bread will donate $1 to Make-a-Wish South Carolina for every flip-flop cookie sold.

In the Midlands, 59 kids are waiting to have their wishes granted. The support and funds raised through partnerships like the Panera campaign will go directly to help grant wishes of children in the local community. Make-a-Wish South Carolina plans to grant the wishes of at least 12 kids this summer.

“We wanted to partner with Make-a-Wish because we love giving back to kids, especially kids with critical illnesses that they have no control over. This is the least we could do,” said Danielle Covelli, marketing coordinator for Panera Bread.

“Make-a-Wish grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. This summer, we are so excited to partner with local Panera stores as they raise funds to help make wishes come true for children in our community,” said Mary Silverberg of Make-a-Wish South Carolina.

Panera Bread will also be taking donations at the register for Make-a-Wish during this campaign.
