More info about June 2, Fort Jackson 101st Birthday Celebration concert

The Fort Jackson 101 concert, sponsored by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, taking place at Hilton Field on June 2, features Rodney Atkins and Sara Evans.

Evans has had five No. 1 singles, sold millions of records, and won the Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist Award. She has also claimed a Country Music Association trophy for her signature song, “Born To Fly.”

With six number-one hits under his belt, four studio LP’s and over ten million units sold, Atkins is known for making honest, authentic records that tell a story and showcase his unique place in the world.

The event includes children’s rides and game, concessions, and a spectacular fireworks display.

The event is free and open to the entire Greater Columbia Community.

Gates to the children’s area will open at 3:30 p.m. and carnival rides will open at 4 p.m. Gates to the concert field will open at 5:30 p.m.

The concert will begin with Sara Evans at 7 p.m. followed by Rodney Atkins. Fireworks will begin immediately after the concert at approximately 9:30 p.m.
