Town Theatre opens its centennial season with the classic production West Side Story – one of the most powerful love stories of all time. Beautiful melodies like “Tonight,” “Maria” and “Somewhere” are juxtaposed with fierce and fiery dancing in “America” and The Dance at the Gym. Town’s production coincides with the 100th birthday of Jerome Robbins, director/choreographer of the original Broadway production of the show.
Don’t miss the show that was overwhelmingly selected by 46% of our voters to have a place in Town’s 100th season ~ West Side Story.
The show runs Sept. 14-30 with an 8 PM curtains on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 3 PM curtain on Sundays. The show is directed by David Swicegood, with music direction by Michael Simmons and choreography by Joy Alexander. Costumes will be provided by Lauren Smith with technical and lighting design by Danny Harrington.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors 65+/active duty military/ full-time college and $15 for youth 17 and under. Group rates are available for 20 or more.

You will then be transported to a dark and desolate farm, inhabited by unspeakable creatures hoping to make you this year’s harvest! GRC is excited to bring the Art Walk of Lexington to beautiful downtown Lexington, SC. The event is scheduled for September 22, 2018 at the Icehouse Amphitheater from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Art Walk will feature 32 local artisans from Lexington, Columbia and surrounding communities showcasing and selling their creations to the public. Additionally, as a cultural event, the Art Walk will provide the community an opportunity to enjoy local cuisine and interact with artists while viewing their works. The varying types of art categories include: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Sculpture, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Graphic/Printmaking, Ceramics, Woodwork, Metalwork, Up-cycled, and Digital Image. Come explore living history with us! In just one square mile, there is proof of 12,000 years of habitation in this beautiful, unique setting with both cultural and natural resources. National Park trained volunteers point out areas of significance along the trail at the 12,000 Year History Park and tell stories about the Battle of Congaree Creek, Fort Congaree and 18th Century Trade, and Lifeways of Native Americans throughout history. Please wear comfortable shoes. You may want to bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and plenty of water!
