Mickey Pringle won the West Columbia City Council District 5 seat in a re-vote, Tuesday. Also in the race were incumbent Boyd Jones and Marland Hardy Mitchell. Pringle received 66 votes. Mitchell got 54 votes and Boyd Jones finished with 14 votes.

The Lexington County Election Commission overturned the initial result from November in the West Columbia District 5 City Council race.

Mitchell appeared to be the winner, 76-to-71, over Pringle after the Nov. 7 election. But Pringle sent a letter to the county election commission claiming that several people got to vote, who were not legally eligible to vote in the district. The election commission agreed, and scheduled a new election. The seat was held by Jones between November and the vote Tuesday.

In the Lexington School District 3 Board race, Sonya Winstead Cary won with 348 votes. Jermaine Barr received 325 votes, Eddie Cogdill got 225 votes, and Will Black had 57 votes.
