Former Lexington Rep. Rick Quinn to be sentenced Monday
Former Lexington Rep. Rick Quinn is scheduled to be sentenced at 9:30 a.m. Monday in a Beaufort courtroom.
Quinn pleaded guilty to charges in an investigation of corruption at the South Carolina Statehouse. Circuit Judge Carmen Mullen is set to sentence Quinn.
Quinn pleaded guilty to misconduct in office in December. Mullen delayed sentencing Quinn then.
Richard Quinn Sr., Quinn’s father, was spared prosecution with his son’s plea, with the provision the senior Quinn cooperate with prosecutors.
Two other Republican legislators have entered guilty pleas as a part of special prosecutor David Pascoe’s investigation. They received probation.
But Pascoe is asking for prison time for Quinn, who could be sentenced to up to one year in prison.
