Columbia assistant city manager resigns after allegations of ‘inappropriate behavior’ involving him

Columbia Senior Assistant City Manager Allison Baker has resigned. The resignation came after allegations of ‘inappropriate behavior’ involving him.

Columbia City Manager Teresa Wilson issued a statement, Wednesday, confirming that Baker had submitted his notice of retirement and immediate resignation, last Friday

“An allegation regarding inappropriate behavior involving Baker was officially reported to Human Resources on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 and an internal review and investigation began immediately,” Wilson said in a statement. “In light of the investigation, Baker submitted his retirement notice and immediate resignation.”

Department leaders who were reporting to Baker will now report to the city manager until further notice, said Wilson.
