Dutch Fork, Chapin Cheer Teams repeat as state champions

The Dutch Fork and Chapin Cheer Teams repeated as state champions in the 5A and 4A classifications, respectively.

The high school cheer competition was held Saturday at Colonial Life Arena.
Chapin scored an unprecedented 13th title, winning over second-place St. James in Class 4A.
Airport finished in 11th place.

In Class 5A Dutch Fork came out ahead of Lexington by a score of 350-348 to win first place. Dutch Fork is now tied at seven, with Liberty for the second-most championships in South Carolina High School League competitive cheer history.

White Knoll with 276 points was eighth this year in Class 5A.
In Class 3A, Brookland-Cayce placed runner-up for the second straight year. The Lady Bearcats once again finished behind Palmetto. Gilbert placed 12th.
