Name of man killed in motorcycle accident is released by coroner

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the individual who died last night after being involved in a two-vehicle collision. The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Broad River Road and Greystone Boulevard, Columbia.

Johnny “Trey” L. Beverly, III,26, of Bentley Drive, Columbia, was the helmeted driver of a motorcycle that was stuck by a vehicle.  Mr. Beverly was transported from the scene by Richland County EMS to Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital where he died at 9:16 p.m.  An autopsy indicated the cause of death to be due to multiple blunt force injuries due to the collision.

The Columbia Police Department is investigating the incident.
