Cayce/West Columbia Primary Care going up at Klapman and N. Brown Street
There is a new healthcare facility being built in West Columbia.
Cayce/West Columbia Primary Care is going up at the corner of Klapman Boulevard and North Brown Street.
The building is 9,762-sq.ft said Paetra Cruz, executive director of Eau Claire Cooperative Health Center, the parent organization for the project. Adults and children, who are part of the “undeserved” community, will be treated at the site when it opens. It will have a pharmacy, including a drive-thru window. Cruz said the anticipated completion date is in early 2018.
Cruz also said the need for healthcare in the area is exceeding capacity so the new building is necessary.
Brookland-Cayce Medical Practice, State Street Cayce, and Brookland Community Pediatrics, 12th Street West Columbia, are a part of the of Eau Claire Cooperative Health Center operation.
Funding for the facility comes from the Health Resources and Services Administration and a Lexington County Community Development Block Grant, Cruz said.
