Lexington deputies, public-safety department to play in annual “Battle of the Badges”
Charity basketball game will benefit Samaritan's Well
It’s that time of year again. A chance at hardcourt bragging rights for the year, and the opportunity to aid a worthwhile local charity.
Members of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the county’s Department of Public Safety are slated to play in the eighth-annual “Battle of the Badges” charity basketball game Saturday, February 18, at Gilbert High School.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium, located at 840 Main St. in Gilbert.
The game is open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend. Game tickets are $7 per person in advance, and $10 per person the day of the event.
Each ticket will grant participants dinner at 5:30 p.m., as well as admission to the game.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Samaritan’s Well, a nonprofit organization in Lexington County that provides homeless and victimized women and children transitional housing.
