The board approved an expenditure of $2,977, 512 for internal upgrades to the school by Contract Construction.

Renovations to the school include a new special-needs area, new art rooms, and a theatrical classroom.

In the gym there will be new rest rooms and a renovated locker room that will be accessible for girls and boys, depending on which team is playing.

The flexibility will allow for Airport to host events including volleyball and wrestling tournaments.
An old stage also will be demolished and the weight room will be expanded and renovated.

The board also approved a contract for $617,554 with Telcom Inc. for communications infrastructure at the new Cayce Elementary School.

Data drops for computers, a new phone system, an intercom and paging system and wiring are included in the contract.

The board voted to upgrade wiring to its surveillance camera system at a cost of $89,044 by A3 Communications.
