Richland Library to assist Obamacare enrollment as Tuesday deadline looms

As open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) comes to a close, Richland Library is teaming up to host the fourth annual deadline event from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 31 at the library’s main location at 1431 Assembly Street.

Free consultations are available through appointments or walk-ins. Social workers and Palmetto Project navigators will go over options available to local residents through the Health Insurance Marketplace and guide them through the application process.

To schedule an appointment, call 803-231-6330 or visit richlandlibrary.com/getcovered.

Be sure to have the following information readily available:

— Household income for 2017
— Social Security numbers
— Dates of birth for yourself and dependents
— Current workplace’s offered health care plan; optional

At last check, more than 200,000 South Carolinians enrolled in health insurance plans through Obamacare since open enrollment started November 1, 2016 – a 6.5 percent increase compared to this same time last year.

The final day for open enrollment is tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, which means coverage will kick in March 1.
