Lexington PD plans December 14 traffic checkpoint

Be careful Wednesday. Lexington Police aren’t saying where, but warned that officers will be conducting a traffic-safety checkpoint in town during the afternoon hours Wednesday.

Officers will be conducting the checkpoint in response to collision incidents, resident traffic complaints, and previous enforcement focused on speeding and unsafe driving practices, according to LPD Cpl. Cameron Mortenson.

Officers will be checking driver’s licenses, vehicle registration, and insurance requirements.
