Bojangles Bash high school hoops tourney tips off

Promising “three hot days of hoops,” the fourth-annual Bojangles Basketball Bash tips off Thursday evening at Ridge View High School.

The event will feature a slate of local high-school basketball teams taking on elite high school teams from several other states.

All games will be played in the main gymnasium at Ridge View High, located at 4801 Hard Scrabble Road in Columbia.

“We are fired up to bring some of the best programs in the eastern United States together for three action-packed nights of basketball,” said Brian Rosefield, Bojangles’ Bash Director and Ridge View Athletic Director.

“This year, we have the most teams ever – 20 teams from five states playing 15 games in three days,” said Bojangles’ Marketing Coordinator Joe Polek. “The event starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon on Saturday. Two of the three days sold out last year, and we are looking forward to another packed house this year.”

Local teams taking part this year include Ridge View, Lexington, Dutch Fork, Gray Collegiate, A.C. Flora, Cardinal Newman, Ben Lippen, Westwood, Kennan, and Spring Valley.

Tickets start at $10 and are on sale now and available in the Ridge View High School front office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the ticket booth beginning one hour prior to tip-off of the first game. Only cash will be accepted at the ticket window.

Bojangles’ VIP passes are also available. VIP tickets include courtside seats, a souvenir program, and access to the Bojangles’ hospitality room, which includes one-of-a-kind menu items, compliments of Bojangles.’
