All Richland Library branches closed Wednesday

Richland Library is taking a day off this week to put the needs of library patrons first.

All Richland Library branch locations will be closed on Wednesday for Customer Service Improvement Day. All branches will reopen 9 a.m. Thursday.

The annual day allows library department teams to work together on projects that will enhance the knowledge and skills of staff members so they are better able to assist customers, said library spokesperson Emily Stoll.

“Unlike Richland Library’s annual Staff Engagement Day, which typically occurs in the fall, our more than 350 staff members will not convene in one place for Customer Service Improvement Day,” Stoll said. “This is a day that will be dedicated to working at our primary locations – all 11 of them – so we can focus on our daily work environment, resources, services and programming.”

Don’t worry if you have library materials that are due to be returned that day.

Fines will not be charged on Wednesday, and holds that were expected to expire Wednesday will be extended to Thursday.

Resources and online information will remain accessible Wednesday via the library’s website, richlandlibrary.com.
