Jacob Dean Easterly, 26, movie buff who could quote lines verbatim from his favorites
Jacob Dean Easterly died Oct. 22, 2015, at the age of 26.
A service was Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pastor Ken Addison officiated.
Born in Columbia, Jacob was a son of Dean and Teresa Scott Easterly. Jacob graduated from AC Flora High School in 2007. He attended Midland Technical College and The University of South Carolina.
Jacob had a smile that could light up a room. His laugh was contagious and could be heard over the loudest of noises. Jacob never met a stranger. If you ever had the privilege to meet Jacob, you had a friend for life. He loved life and was happiest when he was with family and friends. He loved to be with people. Jacob especially loved his younger brother, Josh. He could aggravate his brother, but no one else had better dare bother him! He was so proud of Josh.
Jacob was also an avid sports fan. He loved all sports and could tell you anything you wanted to know about sports teams and statistics. If anyone ever had a question about sports, Jacob was the one to call. He loved his Gamecocks and was a devoted fan. He loved going to USC football and baseball games. Jacob also loved the Colts and New York Rangers. Any game day, you could see him in one of his jerseys and hear him loudly pulling for his team.
Jacob was also a huge fantasy football and movie buff. He loved to go to movies and could quote lines verbatim from his favorite movies. He would often get his grandfather “Pop” to go to movies with him, but he had no problem going alone. His grandmother“Nana” couldn’t get Pop to a movie, but Jacob could. Jacob had very close and loving relationship with his Nana and Pop. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents; brother, Joshua Easterly; maternal grandparents David and Dorothy Nell Scott, of West Columbia; aunts Sherri Glenn (Eddie), Karen Scott (David) and Debi Wilson (Tim); uncles Don Williams (Sylvia), Robert Easterly (Anita) and Charlie Easterly (Pixie); special friend, Chelsea Henderson; and a large and loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bill and Joan Easterly.
