Crown Communities planning new subdivision in Lexington
More homes are coming to the town of Lexington pending further review of the plans by Lexington Town Council and the town’s Planning Commission.
Council members reviewed first readings of an annexation request for land near the intersection of Pilgrim Church Road and Cherokee Trail and an annexation request for land near the intersection of Old Cherokee Road and Cherokee Trail. Both were approved on Monday.
Crown Communities, a division of D.R. Horton, has sent in an early draft of the subdivision’s plan, but Town Administrator Britt Poole said the company has not yet submitted an official site plan with an estimated construction timeline. The site plan will need to receive approval from council before proceeding.
Initial specifications for the subdivision include 157 lots encompassing about 54 acres off of Pilgrim Church Road. Proposed amenities are a resort pool, resident pavilion and resident-only gate access.
