Lexington County small businesses celebrate grand opening of joint location

What once was a local family’s home is now a place where people can shop for unique Christmas gifts and destress from the holiday chaos when needed.

Dawn Ridge and Edie Enright Hershfield celebrated their dual grand opening Thursday with the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce. The friends cut the ribbon on their space at 3357 Leaphart Road that houses a massage therapy clinic and antique shop.

“This is a great location between the interstates,” said chamber president and CEO Randy Halfacre.

Ridge, owner of Dawn of Your Wellness, and Hershfield, owner of Palms to Palmettos, said they’d been looking for suitable place that would meet both the business needs of both. They decided converting an older home was the perfect fit for them and their clientele.

“(Customers can) come get a massage and buy some antiques,” Ridge said.

Ridge and her new massage therapist Lori McCarty provide a wide scope of relaxation services, including a “lunch box special,” a 30-minute session for people with packed schedules, and reiki chakra massage.

For those more in the mood to shop, Palms to Palmettos carries original artwork by Hershfield as well as refurbished furniture from Hershfield and Ridge.

“We’ve been collecting antiques for the last couple of years,” Hershfield said.
