Local plastic surgeon tapped to lead Palmetto Health Healing Waters; spa to open Jan. 15
Palmetto Health’s newest amenity for the community and hospital patients will be opening just after the New Year.
The hospital system announced Palmetto Health Healing Waters, a 7,000-square-foot spa located on the Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge campus, has its grand opening scheduled for Jan. 15. Local plastic surgeon Dr. Peter Haines will oversee care as Healing Waters’ medical director.
Haines, a physician in Columbia for 28 years, is relocating his practice to Healing Waters to administer plastic surgery services. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate Association, the Columbia Medical Society and several other professional organizations.
Healing Waters on the Parkridge campus will employ more than 25 people. Positions include registered nurses, aestheticians, estheticians and massage therapists.
Patients at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge and members of the community are welcome to take advantage of the numerous services at Healing Waters, which range from traditional spa packages to cosmetic plastic surgery procedures to wellness classes.
Complimentary services will include massages and facials for mothers following their delivery, a 10-minute hand or foot massage for each patient during his or her stay and patient discounts on future services.
Hospital officials said the addition of a full-service spa on the Parkridge campus will allow Palmetto Health to care for a patient’s mind, body and spirit all in one place.
Palmetto Health Healing Waters will begin taking appointments at (803) 907-7100 after Dec. 22.
