Affordable Care Act consultant to lead free seminar for small business owners

Small business owners in Lexington and Richland counties are invited to learn how they can prepare their business for the impact of the Affordable Care Act at an upcoming breakfast seminar.

Ted A. Kirchharr, Affordable Care Act consultant and author of “The Busy Business Owner’s Guide to Health Care Reform: What You Need to Know,” is stopping by Columbia next week in partnership with the United Way of the Midlands.

Attendees also will hear from Frank Knapp, co-founder of the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce; Rozalynn Goodwin of the South Carolina Hospital Association; and Mac Bennett, president and CEO of United Way of the Midlands.

“Everyone benefits when we live in a community where business owners and employees have access to work and grow in an environment that offers competitive and stable professional opportunities,” Bennett said. “And we aim to help these professionals become aware of the choices they have in obtaining quality health care.”

The seminar will take place at the United Way offices at 1800 Main St. from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 29.

More information on the seminar or preregistration is available by contacting Claudia Brooks at (803) 733-5112 or visiting the United Way of the Midlands website.
