Palmetto Health joins forces with Healing Waters for new spa location

Patients at one of the Midlands’ newest hospitals will see more services arrive in just a few weeks.

Opening to the public and patients is a new spa at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge in Irmo made possible through a partnership between Palmetto Health and Healing Waters, an award-winning spa and plastic surgery clinic. Select amenities offered at the 6,931-square-foot spa will be complimentary to patients at the Parkridge campus.

The hospital announced news of the partnership last year, and officials said a fall opening is scheduled.

“As a health care provider, we believe in caring for the whole person — mind, body and spirit — so this opportunity to form a strategic alliance with Healing Waters brings us closer to fulfilling our vision of providing extraordinary care for every patient, every time,” said Sarah Richter Kirby, acute care executive of Baptist Parkridge. “To be able to provide complimentary spa services to patients that help them relax is a wonderful addition to the excellent medical care that our team members are already providing.”

The first Healing Waters location opened in Wichita, Kansas, in 2002 followed in 2005 by a location in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

Services available to patients at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge include complimentary “new mom” refresher facials and post-partum massages for mothers who deliver at the hospital in addition to patient discounts on other Healing Waters products.

Palmetto Health Healing Waters also will be available to the public for traditional spa treatments, including facials, massage therapy and Healing Waters’ body rituals, as well as medical aesthetic procedures such as Botox and dermal fillers.

The spa is hiring for the new office. Positions are for a Healing Waters consultant (full-time and part-time); registered nurse; aesthetic procedures (full-time and part time); spa valet; spa-certified medical assistant (full-time and part time); spa body therapist (full-time and part-time); spa scheduler; and spa esthetician (full-time and part Time). Online applications are available through Palmetto Health’s job postings section.
