Todd & Moore celebrate 70th anniversary
A Columbia business that first opened its doors during World War II will celebrate its 70th anniversary Thursday.
Thursday’s celebration will be an all-day event at the 620 Huger St. store with special sales and giveaways from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The Huger Street store opened in 1969 when the business relocated from 707 Main St.
The first 100 customers Thursday will receive a free commemorative t-shirt, and a special ceremony at noon will honor Jim Moore, who is retiring after 55 years at Todd & Moore. Numerous special guests are expected to appear at the ceremony.
Cromer’s, one of the few local businesses older than Todd & Moore, will provide refreshments for guests throughout the day.
